THAT'S WHAT YOU GET

by kira2   Feb 13, 2009

Why are you so cruel
You don't acknowledge me
I am invisible to you
You don't even see me

When you went away I was true
True to your wishes, your ways
Did what you wanted, what you expected
Did everything, for you, for us each day

You returned from the war place
Seemingly sound, none the worse for ware
But within days of your arrival
It seemed obvious that you no longer cared

Why, what happened
Was it living your narcissistic life?
Thinking only of yourself
Forgetting you had kids and a wife

I called each day to fill you in
On what you were missing
You seemed so distracted
As if you were reminiscing

Now you are back
To a new home, new town,
More than a year later
And I feel worn down

Tired of the loneliness
Look at me - I did not die
I'm ready to be loved
"I am here!" I cry

I will let another love me
You, I will forget
I will not waste my love on you
You are not worthy - That's what you get!

War can do awful things to a young man's mind, Kira.

I thought this was really, really sad.

Well written, honest emotions..I hope you two will be able to patch it up:)

    Take care,

    5/5 Ingrid
