Breathe

by Beautifully Disfigured   Feb 16, 2009

She took some time
to find herself
you left her there
no reason or doubt
she's alone in this world
she's been tossed around
lost in this world
abandoned on the front steps
of some random neighbor's door
she's tried her hardest
to make herself her own
but she's tired of trying
and losing

he's been down
the wrong road tonight
said he's lost it all
no reason for a fight
there's no use trying
when we all fail in the end
there's no use crying
when you are the only one with wet eyes
there's a place where I can go
where none of them can find me
a secret place that they can't get to
when all I need is good cry
but I'm done here

and then one day
she was walking
as she past him by
he was running so far
from the cops
pulling at his broken heart
and she stopped him
and smiled
and man that smile
just caught him
by surprise
and she said "just breathe"

Sometimes that is all it takes. Just one moment that can put a 180 degree spin on a train of events. Great job capturing that image.
