Fear

by KT Mackey   Feb 16, 2009

In your mind's dark alleyways
I feed on your lost sight
In cold and empty rooms
The darkest corners of all life

In secreted lies and hyped up eyes
That started with one spark
Where hope is lost in tragedy
And the wake of all the dark
I'm passed on from host to host
Like sickness, death, a plague
I am born in the dead of night
Until sleep sucumbs, I'll stay

With each breaking dawn I'll flee from sight
But for those few I'll stay
Enourmous in that mind of yours
Yet overcome by fate
The only me I've ever had
Is courage, breeding power
It spreads almost as I do
Leaving nothing for me to devour
I'll only leave once overcome
But I always shall return
For however long, you've defeated me but
That audacity will burn
