Will You Go To Prom With Me?

by Jesse Ray   Feb 25, 2009

I asked you this morning to come help me with homework
So let me get through this without my given smirk
Let's just sit down, we don't need to walk
I didn't really have homework, just wanted to talk
As graduation comes closer, and senior year to an end
I just wanted to tell you, you've become my new best friend
Thank you for being there for all the crises that I've been through
And even though we haven't talked that much, we've always spoken true
From my personal life to yours, and even through love
You've saved me from stupid decisions, you're truly sent from above
I thank God every night you're in my life, this I proclaim
Cause you bend over backwards for me, and for you I do the same
But I still laugh at the fact that you think I'm in love with Alyssa
Didn't you know it was a joke? That's why I called and said, "I miss ya"
So as the days pass us by, and parting seems inevitable
Let me remind you that you're pretty damn incredible
I hope we see each other, I'll make some time, this I guarantee
But before this is all over, will you go to prom with me?
