Black Butterflies

by Avrii Monrielle   Mar 1, 2009

She falls to the flutter of temptation
And nobody runs to catch her
All she sees are
Black butterflies:
Millions of
Black butterflies.

They eat her
And bite away
At every tear she has cried
But all she sees
As
The river of life
Seems to drip away
The river of life
Falling through the channels
And cracks
Of her aching palms:

She sees death:
Black butterflies
Carrying her away
To the ocean of regret,
The tunnel of remorse!
All she sees is the macabre
Of lost talent
She chose to run away

Her name is engraved
Everywhere she goes
But she's too busy,
Blinded by black butterflies.
