It's Not Right, But It's Okay

by xToBeWithYoux   Mar 1, 2009

You tried to fix my heart before,
and you will probably try again.
Dear Lord, save me from this
loser, love Emily, Amen.

Giving me hell from the start,
even threatening with a knife.
Now chocolates, flowers, and what's this?
A ring? Are you trying to end my life?

So out came the super glue and the tape,
sitting down with my broken heart.
With that stupid look of concentration
on your face, you healed me, part by part.

Expecting to walk me home from work,
you had brought along your gift.
Tied up in a box with a ribbon,
your shy smile made my spirits lift.

Opening the lid, I saw my heart.
I wasn't sure what I should say.
Remembering our past, the monster you were,
stuttering, "It's not right, b-but it's okay."

Interesting write, I found it to be an original write. The wording was well thought out and the way you delievered the ending was excellent in my opinion. Overall a nice write that holds emotion within. I am sure there are people whom can relate, nice work keep it up!

That is such an amazing poem! Every word just captured me from the start and the feelings were there all the time. I didn't quite expect it to end that way.. So all I can say is that I'm totally blown away.
