Perfect

by Viola   Mar 8, 2009

I lost my name in your lap
In the folds of your skirt
And I found yours on my own sleeve
Etched in the fabric
Between my elbow and wrist
I thought I'd tell you
My soul is hidden
I cannot seem to find
I reckon it's playing hide and seek
For it's found a comfortable spot in your eyes
And my heart
Oh it's attached to yours
Her fingers intertwined
Like a child to her mother, she clutches you tight
Not wanting to ever let go
So though I know in time
People come and go
I cannot imagine myself without your presence near
For none of what I own
Nor my soul, nor my heart
Have ever found anything as near to home
As you

This is beautiful! ^_^ Great imagery, a very song-like quality. I was actually surprised by liking this poem, it's not a style I usually go for, but it's been beautifully done. Great job!
