Exposed

by Donovan   Mar 9, 2009

Through our love, through our life
Through the pain, through the strife
The memories of our brief time will still remain
Chipping piece by piece at the facade I try so desperately to maintain
You were the first, the only one, who could plainly see
Through the lies, and the fake smiles, through what I pretended to be
Damaged, broken, and insecure, you discovered all my flaws
Disgusted with what you found, you exposed them without cause
So I stand naked to the world, as you walk out the door
I beg you to give me back my mask, I don't wish to be me anymore
