Flightless Bird

by xToBeWithYoux   Mar 9, 2009

You found her,
wings broken, heart shattered,
crying in the corner.

In need of an escape
from your own immense pain,
you help her up. Hero.

Comfort in companionship.
You fix her wings
and teach her to smile again.

She becomes happy,
beautiful even, and caring.
She makes you forget the past.

Starry eyed and young,
you begin to mend your own heart
as you mend hers, together.

Love is never simple,
but two broken souls can become
one, deep in love.

You are on cloud nine,
and our flightless bird can soar once again.
How do I know this?

Well, that flightless bird is me.
