I now see where that old saying was born
that every rose does have its thorn
you portrayed you're love to be pure
knowing the plan all along, I'm sure
my feelings for you died in my arms tonight
that made the feeling in your heart so right

i tried to deny your intentions where so impure
but you left my soul bleeding on the floor
curing myself of your wretched disease
was the best i could hope to seize
the last shred of love i have inside of me
is no longer yours to be

so I'm freeing myself of your disdain
letting go of all your guilty pain
locking away from you my fragile heart
inside my head i feel so smart
but i never know if I'll find the key
to let someone else come inside an see

the man that used to occupy my shell
for he lives in his own tortured hell
his mind apart from his body
living like a nobody
this is what you made me
fragile and broken
