I've Cried a Liter of Tears

by Sarah   Mar 13, 2009

What is life?
Is it a never ending journey of shared love and misery?
Is it a continuous struggle to reach an unseen goal?
Is the pain that you feel a part of what's real?

What is life?
I've seen you suffer an unspeakable ache.
I've watched you cry a liter of tears.
Through it all, you were standing still.
Like a bird with a broken wing who've learned to fly his pain away.

What is life?
Why was she chosen to undergo this disease?
Is it fate?
Or simply a random pick?
I still echo these inexpressible questions in my heart.

What is life?
She's grown accustomed to what she feels
Stopped asking questions that ain't real.
Learned to smile and let go.
Sometimes her heart crashes to pieces, but still she fights.
Not for tomorrow nor today.

What is life?
A farewell was silently spoken, as the Japanese lilies blossomed once again.
Another dream came to an end.
A floral scent sailed away.
A liter of tears sprinkled around.
A fragile body laid in the ground.

What is life?
It's a secret not meant for us to know.
An endless dream that will constantly evolve.
So embrace it's oddity,
Taste it's wine,
And live life as it slowly fades away..
