Infinite.

by Helen   Mar 14, 2009

Three of the best years of my life,
and it was all because of you.

You tried your best to hold on so long,
but we knew you were never that strong.

It wasn't until recently when I knew you were nearly there,
you were saying goodbye to it all.

I held you so tight,
I tried to make you stay.

But you hate this world,
and I hate you more for leaving it.

When I saw you laying there in that bed,
I just wanted to walk away.

I wanted never to think of you again,
Like you never thought of me.

Didn't we mean anything?
How could you leave me behind?

If you go, I go.
That's what I always told you.

But you took that chance and went,
and I don't know whether to follow you anymore.

I hate you for this,
but I hate myself more for not being good enough to make you stay.

Take care, sleep tight,
and remember at least I thought we were infinite.
