Born of Pain

Stones in the road, agony on my feet
Still I trudge on through the misery
Enduring discomfort with joy
Callouses slowly forming
Dulling the sensation
Unnoticeable
As time moves on
Strength is born
Its seed
Pain
Life
Is born
Out of pain
Love, hate, joy, grief
All alive and well
For those who breathe and live
We damaged souls who walk on
Absorbing all we encounter
Using it to lift us to heaven
Or at least the glow of the waking sun

The poetry form, Etheree, consists of 10 lines of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 syllables.
Etheree can also be reversed and written 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Get creative and write an Etheree with more than one verse, but follow suit with an inverted syllable count.

Reversed Etheree: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Double Etheree: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10, 9, 8, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

    And taken it a step higher with a double Reversed Etheree.
