Prudent answers leave my lips
You don't like it anymore
Ironic what you've come to hate
Is what you loved before

Eyes that gleamed, now hold regret
Two barren fields of ash
Arid climates settle in
It's over in a flash

Behold the end forever held
When neither would accede
To open up or look inside
No time to tend the seed

The fertile ground that held their love
Internally decayed
Too blind to see before the end
All they had betrayed

Love the metaphors and melancholy tone of the poem...great rhyming and flow...

"Ironic what you've come to hate
    Is what you loved before"

^in a failed relationship this is so true...I like the reference to tending the seed....the whole liking to love as a plant and the ground that needs tending...well done!
