Walls

by Beautiful Chaos   Mar 26, 2009

In time I've made these bricks
That line the life I live
Tears and pain have made the mortar
Things I can't forgive

Some people have been locked inside
Others never see
Trapped outside my castle wall
Of all that's come to be

Moments when I've stopped to look
At places deep inside
Are weakening the palisade
To coax me not to hide

Years of pain have built them up
Now joy will tear them down
Behind a wall that's filled with tears
There's nothing, save to drown

I do not wish to face that death
Struggling for air
Behind the bricks of loneliness
I stacked to fight despair
