Comfortable excuse

by endswithgoodbye   Mar 31, 2009

Locked in a cage he calls his mind
No one can touch him
His broken dreams and pessimistic fantasies
Only they know how to love him
His desire for self pity
Clouds the ending he claims to seek
Her touch could be his saviour
Yet he cowers out of reach

A sucking sickness
A comfortable excuse
Her heart takes the consequence
She knows what's to lose

Chained to his side for a life of never
She makes the sacrifice
Leach for lost causes, disaster without pauses
Bittersweet lies her guilty pleasure in life
She craves to save him
Mend the wounds life has lashed out
Wants a love he cannot give her
Needs the one who can sort her out

A sucking sickness
A comfortable excuse
He needs her, she needs more
Both choices one will lose

Held together by a need for better
They settle for the same
Each sucking sickness of the same illness
Of not accepting change
Their love for one another
Not more then an excuse to fill a need
The relationship it always was
Not knowing how to proceed

A sucking sickness
A comfortable excuse
mixing business and feelings
playing a game of misuse
