She's Not You

by Tom   Apr 1, 2009

She's beautiful
Gorgeous
All of the above.
Like a dove she flies higher than the rest of the world.
She's like a princess; no,
Better yet a queen.
She makes me smile in my sleep
As she consumes my dreams.
Yet to find a flaw in this girl I adore.
To me she's perfect,
I could not ask for more.
Except for one thing that makes me a little unsure,
No cure,
For this is not something seh can do.
The only thing wrong is that she's not you.
Sometimes its hard to see something good,
Especially when I've already seen the best.
But holding on to the past
Makes it hard to grip the next.
It feels weird with her,
Like I'm wasting breath with each word that I say,
Because I'm only used to you
Taking mine away.
