Constant Roars of Thunder (empowering for abused)

by Coral   Apr 2, 2009

Constant Roars of Thunder,
Always booming through your head.
Lightning now beginning to flicker,
As your mind's racing, recalling words that were said.

Try to collect your thoughts now,
Because darling, its the calm before the storm.
Your going to need a paddle,
Cause it hasn't rained this much since you were born.

Rain is now pouring,
Every drop like a stain on your soul.
You want to just stay inside,
But there's nowhere else to go.

Look out in front of you,
See the tornado in the distance?
Don't worry about getting lost in it,
I'm sure you can muster up enough resistance.

Everything is getting destroyed.
A home now left tattered and broken.
Children not understanding what happened,
They all look at each other, but no words are spoken.

To some this is the end,
but to us.. Life has just begun.
Listen, now the birds are singing.
And just over the horizon, we can see the sun.

Each of us get to have a fresh start.
With no F-5 tornado ever coming back.
No more wind trying to knock us over,
Which we don't mind to lack.

It's like having a building lifted off your chest.
And putting a spark back in your eyes.
To never have to speculate,
What would've happened, if that storm hadn't died.
