A Neglected Heart

by Sarah   Apr 2, 2009

Behind the predatory eyes, I lie.
Sharp as an arrow past the starry night, I rise.
A new beginning draws the birth of a beating heart.
A new rhythm driven by impulsive thirst for life.
Smoothly, I sprint those lands as my pack follow in my trail.
A humanly spirit trapped in a wolf's mind.
A neglected past has been hidden well inside.
I lose myself to the deep wilderness my heart has come to love.
One night is all that's left of a past waiting for me to live.
A new moon marks my sorrowful rebirth.
A new dawn silenced my heart for another time.
A tremendous cry seeps through as I surrender my weary heart to you.
Gracefully, here, I lie.
Embracing my instincts.
Abandoning my past.
Inheriting a legacy that was never mine to ask.
