Lamentations

If I were to write a book about it all,
Pages and pages of it all I would write
It was tough, and it was bad,
Many a cold night, crying myself tearless
If I were to write a book about it all,
Awards and awards of it all I would receive
the reviews would all be good, fan clubs aplenty
They would honour me or something
Perhaps even name a school after me
I would tell them all about how life was unkind
Of the backstabbers and haters, pitfalls and vices
The heartbreaks and the misery
The treachery, the lies
Of all this, I could write a great book,
But of it all, I wouldnt really want to
I have chosen, rather, to let it empower me
To pull up my socks, breathe in deep,
And shout Amen!
To appreciate the goodness of it all,
It had to first be the worst of it all
So now I step into the light,
Breathing in deep and starting afresh
Lookout, dear world, I have arrived.
To experience, to enjoy,
Master of my territory
To evolve, to empower, in turn, be empowered
Lookout, world, my journey has just begun
Not only to succeed, but to conquer
