They love you for your spirit
Accepting of your flaws
Send you out into the world
Amidst the teeth and claws

Knowing there's a haven
To which you can return
Open hearts left waiting there
To soothe what comes to burn

They said be who you are
No matter what you hear
Everyone is different
Never change for fear

Those who don't accept you
Just faces in the crowd
The only ones who matter
Already, you've made proud

Their smiles stand behind a door
And wait to wash away
Everything the world has thrown
And hit you with today
