Lovers Morn

Lovers Morn

Oh day of sunlight lovely in thy peace
Withers still the rose that growest on the brier
Beauty in thy weakness, shall never cease
On that glorious morn beckoned by thy fire
The power of thy countenance, I feared thee
Glory more astounding in that sovereign hour
Lying soft beneath the willow by the stream
Modesty lost, doth crush the finest flower
Beseech the robin, sing soft my lovers tune
Of his deepest secret yearnings fill thine ears
From this place of endless beauty, left too soon
Mine eyes will search through dismal fading years
Light the candle, reflect in windows glow
Loves worth... by morn doth show.

^I love these lines Deana, but the whole poem was beautiful, I think you did a very nice job with the language, great work!

Beautiful, Deana...I read it out loud, several times.
Peace of a sunlit day, the image of lovers lying on the sweet grass beside the river underneath the willow....I would like to be in such a place with someone special:)
I love the old English very much, it gives a certain class to the poem.

    *hugs*
