Confessions of broken bridges: i love you was never the same

by meganmarie   Apr 10, 2009

The opposite gender doesn't appear to offer
any words of sympathy, when its her hearts he breaks
he doesn't get that she cares ever after,
that its nothing from them she'll take.

when the last night stand is all but done
last broken chords of snapping hearts
lying to herself about failing truths
has no one learned the trouble boys start?

and in the end, he still wont see,
that she was here for him all the way,
He doesn't realize, what love for him she harbors
and for him to unobserve is a crying shame.

so blind to sight with eyes wide closed,
crying there beside him, and still he'll never see
in the end it's all the same
jumping over the edge, a lock without a key

Lying to herself that she doesn't mean a thing,
that her help isn't needed by him,
She stares at a loose string,
and wonders why he would commit that sin,

so its then she knows the truth behind his lies
all those fake i love you's thought true
broken yet satisfied
she'll break through like birds, take her wings and fly

Just when she thought for second, that he was different,
he does what the rest of his kind does,
and the thoughts pour into her heart,
where the overwhelming will start,

he's not worth the fight she so willingly gives
broken promises crashed into broken brigades
bridges will tumble and hearts will collapse
but that is the end, and one day, maybe...

...maybe he'll see what she did for him,
and repent for all those sins,
against her for so long he was,
and lost his head for some lost love
now he knows the true extent of what he can withhold,
with her now, isn't anything but sorrows,
