Sidewalk

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Apr 10, 2009

Then he brushed his hand against her thigh
Indicating that he was going
She didn't follow
She never followed
He left the room and paced down the hall
The subtle click clacking of his shoes on the ground
He found the door. "Roof"

Ten minutes passed when she found the note he left on the sofa.
They found him on the sidewalk.

I like how this poem feels like a snapshot in each line. the shortness and bluntness paints quick, rapid fire pictures that wind up forming a larger, uglier time line. very well done.
