Self Awareness

by PHOEBIX   Apr 10, 2009

I was once formless
No impressions
No knowledge
No direction

I drifted in a sea of infinity
Full, yet alone
Solitary
Yet surrounded

Touched by others like me
I found form
I found thought
I found what I thought was me

But it was all impressions
Left by others
What parts are myself
Are truly pieces of me

Contemplation
Self examination
What is me
Who is me

Questioning all the dents left behind
I sort through a sea
Of others thoughts
Sifting to find what is mine

Finally I see
It is all me
All the pieces that stick
All the bits that fit

I am what I experience
And those events are me
I am my own thoughts
As I make them mine

History repeats
Generationally
Each puzzle piece
Is a part of me
