Redolent

by Beautiful Chaos   Apr 14, 2009

Diamonds sparkle in the grass
As dew drips from the blades
It takes me back, into your eyes
Reality, it fades

Rays of sun, heat beating down
Whispers of your lips
Fire born inside your kiss
Mere suns could not eclipse

Skillful hands corrupting skin
Seductive to the flame
Spreading passion everywhere
Screaming out my name

Time, then, but an afterthought
Burned beyond repair
Sacrificed a beating heart
For one that wasn't there

The need to melt, into your flesh
Capturing my mind
Insanity comes easily
To one who's left behind

I loved your word choice, good flow. It seems as though you constructed this piece with ease as your rhyming wasn't forced. Catchy rhythm. Excellent job!

The alliteration here captivated me so much, loved the reiteration of the S.
