Stay with me.

by Jenn   Apr 16, 2009

Let's pretend for just one minute,
Life was how it used to be.
Let's just say that for this time,
You were still with me.

In the long years spent apart,
We have grown up so much.
How can I believe,
Your love is not just lust?

I haven't seen you in so long,
Yet my heart cries out for you.
In my dreams is where I see you,
wrapping me in your arms like you used to.

When my tears begin to fall,
I think fondly of your memory.
You wouldn't leave my side,
Until you saw a smile from me.

Even though I hurt so much,
And gave you pain as well,
Still you held me in your arms,
Catching me if I fell.

Why do you still reach for me,
When All I did was let you down?
I tried to move forward,
Leaving you on the ground.

I didn't mean to hurt you,
I didn't want to let you go.
But the pain I felt inside,
I didn't want you to go through.

Yet I took a hammer to your heart,
And I still regret that I did so.
Please just listen when I say,
That I will always love you.

I'll glue your heart together,
I'll put it in a bullet-proof case.
If only in return, I ask,
That I always see your face.

I will not let you down again,
I will not let you fall.
I promise to come running,
Every time you call.

So let's just say that life,
was once how it used to be.
Until the end of time,
Say you'll stay with me.

Not as strong as the others ive read but still really really good. Some of the rhyming seemed a bit forced as did the syllable count/rhythm alhtough i really liked the message-there seems to be a consistant theme throughout your work =P
A 4.5/5 for this one (rounded up of course)
