Behind The Attic Wall

by Beautiful Chaos   Apr 17, 2009

A little girl
Whose world is gone
Anger, stealing
Holding on

Waiting, hurting
Lost inside
A strength
That cannot be denied

Imagination
Such a friend
When all is lost
It has no end

Friends are few
Create some more
Dance with them
On darkened shore

Teach them all
You think you know
All you've learned
But never show

Laugh and giggle
Hide and seek
Backwoods girls
Thoughts oblique

Whispered voices
Secret stairs
The past is calling
Love prepares

Something in her
Drew them near
A beauty
That she'd grown to fear

(A work in progress)

I enjoyed the concise nature of each line. A few words can say much and isn't that what poetry is all about.

I really like this poem. I think most of us have felt this way in some part of our life.
The only thing that I feel that I am missing in this poem is feelings. If you understand what I mean.
