Cherry Blossoms

by MidniteRain   May 9, 2009

A stranger looks my way
Looks me in the eye,
I smile sadly and turn away
Crushing petals beneath my feet
Each step killing me inside
As I walk beneath
Those trees tonight.

Walking down the street,
Blossoms gently fall,
From cherry trees
Left exposed and bare
To the harsh cold air.

Tumble and fall,
Search for strength within
Tears like dewdrops
On cherry blossom skin,
Sweet beautiful tragedy
Fallen beneath
Those trees tonight.
