Second Chances

Time tore them asunder
Hearts drowning in the rain
Love leaving them behind
To wallow in their pain

Selfish souls, full of pride
That wander lonely now
Trapped inside an acridness
Sadly, they allow

If time could bring them back to love
They'd never be afraid
To touch that tender spot inside
Once they had betrayed
