Daffodils

by Beautiful and Crazy   May 15, 2009

Warm yellow sunlight
That embraces you to grow
Cool showers that tickle
Your throat from thirst
Colors in full bloom
With a scent that is so divine
People stop dead in their tracks
Longing to feel the touch
Of your smooth silky body
The sweet smell of honey
Fills the air
With a heavenly fragrance
The gentle wind blows
To cool you from the heat
A beauty that is long to be found
You are powerful and strong
But yet seem so fragile and weak
You turn fields into gold
By the touch of King Mitus
A hint of emerald peeks above
Your kingdom is graceful
With a magical desire
But at the same time each year
You start to lose your color
The silky softness withers away to nothing
Wrinkled and fading
No longer a sweet smell of longing
You are nothing now
But only a happy memory
