He missed his chains

by John Long   May 18, 2009

He left his wife,
He left his job,
He left his bills,
Freedom, pure freedom.

The scared crow flew home
Three weeks later.
He missed his chains.

My grandmother has always said something to me which seems to fit in this case. Yes, the grass is greener on the other side but it gets fertilized somehow.

Very deep and oh, so true John..without knowing it, we are so bound by our fears and habits. In such a short verse you have captured that sentiment very well, my friend!

Good poem, shows the grass isn't always greener on the other side, just a different shade, 5/5
