I Wear The Red Letter

by Dacey Flame   May 20, 2009

I wear the red letter
Fastened upon my chest
Sporting loopholes and
Low cut shirts, I concur

But the image was planted
The words spoken to me, I heard
I didn't listen

I believed in a future
Grim as any you would, and
As usual my solution was far grimmer
Not from this view, kid

Kept asking me how my day was going
How to say amazing, kindly
Kindly let me be
Kindly sooth my thoughts
Kindly take me in, tonight

This is how it always happens
I am a wretched, filthy, little child.
