This was a short but extremely satisfying piece of poetry, for using such few words you have certaily said a lot! Beautiful imagery crossed my mind, and your talent shined throughout this poem Temps. Take care and 5/5 from me. Keep writing, always and forever.....

Congrats on achieving your 200 poem, Temps:)

A Haiku is a good way to celebrate it.

You painted a very vivid picture with your words, I could almost see the leaves and the sun breaking through the clouds.
The only remark I hav would be: should it not be lilac's scent, but I am not sure about this.

    Beautiful poem, girl!

    *hugs*

Congratulations on number 200. A nice Haiku but the last line just seems out of place with the first two. The syllable count is off in line 2. I counted 6 and the form requires 7. Good use of alliteration in the line.

    sun 1
    smiles 1
    through 1
    somber 2
    skies, 1

a couple of ways to make it 7:
bright sun smiles through somber skies
white sun smiles through somber skies
sun smiles through somber gray skies

This is simply elegant and beautiful Temps. It was definitely worth my time. So short yet so full of life. Nature is a joyous part of life. We always take for granted the little things. Though nature is not little. To most it goes unnoticed. All the fragrances and glorious pictures painted by mother nature. They hold peace and welcoming. Every night I like to sit on my balcony and breath in the air. All the wind that stirs the leaves. Lilac's indeed have a earthy scent. A unique scent that has a potency of its own accord. We can drown in loneliness, But mother nature will hold our hands. I enjoyed this piece it was a reminder of how serene nature is.

    Temps,

I admire you for this poem. Firstly for it being your 200th..I mean what an achievement.. I hadn't even started writing at your age! lol Secondly, choosing to write a short verse that is a form of your own, not feeling the need to conform to a pre-existing form.

Poem that compliment nature are always a pleasure to read, and this one is no exception. The two elements essential for growth, sun and water are shown here in culmination with the wonderful lilac flower, its delicate petals of such a beautiful, yet subtle colour. I remember on many occasions walking through a garden after a shower of rain and enjoying the revived scents as the sun lifts them into the air.

Poems like this spark off all the senses when written well and mine are all a volley of cascading fireworks.

    Take care
