Two voice poem

I am a writer
I am a Writer
A purposeful Author an amazing author
I write for a purpose
I write for fun
And sometimes for fun
and sometimes with a purpose
America is in Turmoil America is in Turmoil
But I follow the government
and I ignore the government
Whenever possible whenever possible
We are at war with ourselves
We are at war with the world
A war we all fight within and without
A war our troops fight
Right here far away
We fight with words
we fight with guns
And with guns
and with words
It will never end it will never end
we must fight
we must fight
For our borthers and sisters
for ourselves
We are the countries fighters we are the countries fighters
words wallowing within
they want to get out
they must escape
these words within me
they are like my ammunition they are like my ammunition
against the chaotic creatures in our conscience
against the garishly grinning government
we will rise we will rise
the writers and poets
the warriors and fighters
we will be reunited we are united

This is a two voice poem, it is supposed to express two point's of view, each "column" (this site doesn't have microsoft office formatting) is it's own individual poem that would make sense on it's own, but together they hold a greater message, the left column is supposed to be from Walt Whitman's point of view, and the right column is mine, this was for a school assignment so some of the lines are weird and it doesn't completely follow the points of view but it fit the format my teacher wanted, maybe i will come with a revised version in the future. Enjoy!
