Too Quiet

by Alisha   May 28, 2009

Your silence hurts my ears.
Laughter, Loving words, soft whispers.
Lost to the flow of the years.
Crying alone again,
As lonley as I've ever been.
Left alone to raise a son.
What have I done?
Love used to come from your beautiful lips.
They now set thin and firm,
We've taken a very bad turn.
When again will I hear the joy of a lover,
Or father of my baby boy?
My ears are ringing,
My eyes are stinging with tears.
Curse the years!
Curse them that have taken the voice from your mouth!
Silence,
Maybe someday silence will return to song.
