Child abuse

You stand beside me and I don't know what you feel inside
You stand beside me and I don't know you're a person I should despise
Look at the trust he gave you, Look at the trust you had
How in the world, why in the world did you turn out so bad

I look at him and see nothing, no sign of all the wrong
That has gone on in his little world for who knows how long
He shows no sign of discomfort no outward show of plea
How long will you get away with it, how long before someone sees?

So mothers protect your children, be suspicious of one and all...
It happened in front of so many, and they never even saw
Be willing to be open, some secrets you just can't keep
and some wounds go farther than only just skin deep

Some children aren't cared for, hated and despised
Some children are forgotten parents deaf to all their cries
Lucky for your brother, your parents cared for him
Lucky for your brother, you are far away from him
