Leprosy

by FenderGrl   Jun 5, 2009

I can't breathe with this lump in my throat,
I can't bare to see these people unable
While I just sit here next to her
Watching her sleep,
And that machine next to her
What's it for?

I know He is here
I feel him stronger than ever.
I know I saw that woman speak in his name,
Leprosy is her enemy--
And he was setting his grace there beside her...

I said to him,
Help me find all that is of you
Help me find your heart which is whole
And magical to the touch...

Take our leprous bodies into your graciousness, the untouchable--
and make our legs roadworthy of your footsteps...
And take us out of here, and keep us out...

Leprosy is our enemy
And you are the doctor of all doctors...

I know you are here.

*I wrote this poem in the Emergency room at a hospital when my sister was sick. There was so many beds and so many patients layin there unable-- walking into that place made me cry, and it truly touched me. I felt like praying for everyone in there.*
