Leaving behind permanent scars
Parting with skin marked like stars
Smallpox is a Category A bio terrorism agent or disease

Smallpox is caused by infection with variola virus
Not wanting this virus is very desirous
It's infected through face-to-face contact,
This disease has a major impact
This infection is also spread through the air
If inhaled, your body will tear
Infected saliva can also cause the sickness
Smallpox abandoning a life of dreaded thickness
Isolation and quarantined, is the outcome, if infected
For they don't want everyone infested
First you're overridden with chills, headache, fever
If careless you might be the receiver
Then follows nausea, vomiting and severe muscle aches
Monitor such feelings, for it won't be mistakes
Although there's no specific treatments for smallpox
Research is being done, searching a key for the lock
Treatment used for easing pain may include intravenous fluids, fever,
and pain control
If not working, life will take different tolls
Antibiotics for secondary bacterial infections are also used
One's body leaving bruised
However one not might continue
A life departing, leaving everything discontinued
For body defenses are not in attendance
Without the vaccination the immune system has no independence
Sometimes antibiotics are given for secondary infections that may occur
With the antibiotic your body might or might not concur
Vaccinia immune globulin may help shorten the disease.
So use it and the spread of the infection might seize
