Long nights spent
Running from the loneliness
The sadness and the hurt
Searching for shelter from the problems within
Deliberate intoxication to numb the pain
Surrounding myself in a euphoric daze
Going to the highest high
Only to be brought to the lowest low
The stranger in the mirror only smiles
Showing no sign of the struggle within
Surrounded by other smiling faces
All searching for the same comfort
Running from their own demons
Spending those long nights in my drug stupor
Only to awaken once again to the stranger in the mirror
The same hurt and problems
Then its off to intoxicate myself again
Creating a vicious cycle
Of ups and downs
Trying to fill the emptiness I feel
The constant loneliness that never goes away
Only dormant for a few drug filled hours
Only to awaken once again to the stranger in the mirror...
