As we wait

by LonelyNightsHurt   Jun 27, 2009

Have you ever watched someone?
As they lay in a cold room with strangers
Taking their last breaths without family
A strange, impending doom

An oil burner to mask the smell
A dull light so we can not see
The changes occurring slowly
As we wait for it to be

A thousand eyes. . Waiting for your death
So we can say, "She needed it"
So we can feel at ease
And carry on with our lives

Not me. .

I stood there with your for hours
Because your family couldn't
I held your hand, and stroked your face
And wondered if you knew I was there

I got home and cried a thousand tears
One for each second of your pain
I got home and had to do something
I promised never to do again

I can't say where you are now
But I know it has to be better
I will always think of you
Rest In Peace My Love

Lonely
