This was my part of the Creative Writing's Talent Show Entry.

How many times have you walked down these halls? How many times have you looked into all those faces and felt anger? Jealousy? Frustration? Happiness? Love?

Have you judged someone and hated them simply because of their clothes, the looks on their faces? The lack of symmetry in their body?

Have you ever even attempted to see life through their eyes?

What if they come home to a verbally or physically abusive family? What if they have alcoholic parents who only care about their next party night?

Or what if they have the "perfect" family? No arguments, always have food and parental love?

Not everyone is that lucky, not everyone is happy, but not everyone is depressed either.

If you think you have it bad, just imagine coming home to an empty home, no parents, no pets, no friends. No food, no music, no electricity, no running water.

Your life may not be perfect, but at least you have someone who cares about you. At least you're not alone.

What can you say about the others who walk down these halls?

You know nothing.

So the next time you judge someone for their style or appearance. Look in the mirror, because you've been judged just like them.

Hopefully, they've been more merciful than you have.
