The Mask

by music4pumpkins   Jul 8, 2009

You say it's worse where you're at
But nothings scarier then what's behind the mask
you say you've seen it, lived there to see it
I think you're scared to ask
That means admitting you have a mask
It means admitting that you're the same
You want other people to blame
You seek guilt for 15 seconds of fame
When found out you hide behind your shame

You say that's lie, the one hiding is me
You can describe the life you live, the life you see
But we both secretly know, it's not the same horror I've seen
We both know this is who you are, who I've been

You and i both know they're all behind a mask
We know that you're afraid to ask
Because that means your sweetheart has a poison flask
But that's how it is, that's their task

They all act depressed
to be better than all the rest
And when you ask they defend-idly detest
Because they want to think they are the best

Run, say you're worse off than me
Run, say it's as bad as it can be
Run, because things are not as you've seen
Run, because things are not what they seem
Better yet, run, because I'm finding my way to be free
