Eternal Fantasy

by Rey Severs   Jul 11, 2009

I climb onto my balcony, ever so slow,
taking off my silken black gown,
I have a long stare as to what is below,
then fall,headfirst,down.

Halfway down I stretch my wings,
taking off on an adventurous flight,
Oh it feels great to be a king,
to be a creature of the night.

The flight of the fairies and the bees,
In the crystal blue starry bright,
On my cheeks,I feel the chill of a breeze,
As I fly underneath underneath the moonlight.

I catch sight of the dragonflies,
stalking their prey patiently,
And if I close my eyes,
I can feel their prey trembling.

Seeing a patch of long grass,I land,
Enjoying the feel of the green,
Tonight I get to meet a new friend,
the beautiful,fairy queen.

She approaches and I gasp at her beautiful smile,
My heart beats fast,
I wish to stay forever,or no more then a little while,
I want this night forever to last.

But what is this,I am bleary eyed,
In a strange place it seems,
I cry out,my eyes had lied,
It was nothing more then a dream.

I sat on that balcony,
my wings delicately folded,
I sat their so long,
forever my wings would be mouled.

I sat their hoping to see just a glimpse,
Of my fairy friend,
But I grew frail, old and limp,
I waited until my end.

Before I knew it,I was resting,
A deep slumber in my bed,
I was just waiting,
until I would be dead.

I close my eyes, full of patience,on the brink of death,
and I see her again,so beautiful, bowing her pretty head,
I smile a little smile,and follow her,
leaving behind my body, and last breath.
