Chopping Onions

by Good Enough   Jul 14, 2009

Pulling out the cutting board
Taking out the knife
Peeling all the onions
Ending all my strife

Eyes start to water
Tears begin to fall
loosing all sanity
Starting to withdraw

Chopping little pieces
Crying some more
Tears become real
Escaping from my core

Onions were an excuse
To blame all my tears
Hiding away the truth
Covering up my fears

When I'm finally finished
The crying will be over
Onions would be chopped
They're a great cover

I hate hate hate cutting onions.. I always have someone do it for me because it makes me cry. I love the little personal touch put in the poem, how when youre cutting the onions you can also release the real tears and nobody can tell.. short write but I cant say Ive seen many poems written about onions. :)
