A lesson for thee

by InfiniteChange   Jul 23, 2009

There once was this little girl
Once so shy but filled with glee
Once so selfless now in hurl
Once so innocent and careful, remember thee?

She fought a path of inner struggle
To come out and get the key
Never afraid of external smuggle
Now so different than you see

There she found a way
Different than you thought or even me
So close to utter decay
And so skipped was a decree

The shyness that once overruled
Was surely no guarantee
Because the guy who loved was dumped, the fool
But are you really that much better than he?

Now hooking up with some other guy
To pay him back and throwing him in the sea
You think you got it all, but once your ally
Can turn into your worst enemy before you see

Maybe this might be a lesson, for he and perhaps for thee
Friends and lovers are really the ones you need someday..
And don't you just agree?
