Taught to Die

by Scott E Buttross   Jun 14, 2004

Death took him at the age of another’s thought
Silent dreams have repressed our lonely ambitions
To invent we forgot
Can we break from drowning in aged ways
We were taught this day
Another history of the old
Don’t forget what you were told
What you were told…
You were told…
And I have seen men who forgot to listen
Ideas with thought they vision
Philosophers of new
Tradition lost with decision
Were you told
Sold…
Old ambitions grown cold.

To let the mind
Open a new dimension
Climb to high for open
Convention
Cluster the blind
So divine…
With intention…
But you were told…
Can’t fight no more,
These lost ways slip.
Will someone be so bold
To trickle past
Finding at last
Thoughts we will not mention.
