Discontentment

by Tripp   Aug 3, 2009

Empty Faces glare while empty eyes stare
Blank visages point at me
As I drown in dark water, gasping for air

In this convoluted world I face a false reality
Fvcked up fallacies begotten by human hypocrisy

Dissolution of morals, absolution for evil men
No retribution for wrongdoers, oh what is happening?
Black becomes gray becomes the purest of white
Change is everlasting, yet the same is not true for wrong or right

Oh deceitful web of deceptive lies
How you shroud what is wrong, in silky disguise
Thousands of deaths are a statistic, yet just one is a tragedy
Skewed perceptions are but hued conceptions of blind men living visually
Flee-run-retreat and try to escape this catastrophe
Be-the one-to beat the always winning enemy

Solace is sought and discovered through dream-drifting
For there's permanence in change, and the land is ever-shifting

For when we live in a world where nothing is as it seems
We're only safe from ourselves when we drift through our dreams

What has this world come to?
I know not what is true;
Anymore
I know not what to do;
Anymore
But to close my eyes and shut the door
And hope that you may dream too
