The last tear

by Giselle   Aug 4, 2009

Everyone reaches on time
On the day of your funeral
Almost everyone sheds their tears
Utter some comforting prayers

Dressed in black suits and gowns
Men and women pass you by
With garlands and bouquets too
Of flowers with sparkling hues

While I'm just standing there
Wondering why my eyes have run so dry
Amazed why they refuse to cry

Cold and emotionless
As you might so presume
But its just so hard to take
You can never assume

I'll be reminded of you though
Every time i hear the doorbell
Every time i sit to read the mail
Every time someone tells a fairy tale

The arteries still pump
My ventricle feels just strong

But with every single drop of blood
Trickling down my spine

The heart still feels a twinge-
It doesn't really seem so fine
