The Fantasy of Friendship

The fantasy of friendship

Words softly spoken wrapped in concern
His touch so gentle yet it seemed to burn
Consumed by panic, fear, and despair
Having trouble breathing; can't get any air

Room suddenly darkened, gone is the sun
How could this happen? Can it be undone?
Electricity in the air like an on coming storm
Thunder sounds as my world transforms

Whisper, small fairies begin to cry
Butterflies pale, and fall from the sky
Birds are saddened and refuse to sing
Horror now rules and is reigning king

I run to the arms of my very best friend
Poured out my heart how this is the end
She wrapped me in kindness, love, and respect
Rebuilding a spirit that seemed to be wrecked

Fairies dance a jig and butterflies soar
Birds sing gaily even more then before
Because of the courage you breathed into me
Fear no longer chains me, you gave me the key.
